Gerude: Education for Innovation
GerHub is a nonprofit social enterprise that seeks to find creative solutions to the most pressing issues in the ger areas of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Since its establishment in 2016, GerHub has partnered with top institutions in the fields of architecture, design, and engineering to research and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of ger area residents.
Nexon Foundation and GerHub joined forces in 2018 to launch the Gerude: Education for Innovation Program. Gerude is an extra-curricular program that aims to equip Mongolian youth with the tools and mindset necessary to become innovative leaders in their communities. EIP Fellows use bricks to strengthen teamwork, demonstrate new ideas and inspire their peers in ger areas to become leaders themselves- all while having fun playing with bricks!
As of 2019, 10 Innovation Fellows successfully graduated from Gerude. Over 20 Fellows are currently enrolled with continued engagement from 1st-year alumni.
